Headshot for Sophie Parnham

Sophie Parnham

At 2-years-old, wanting to be Angelina Ballerina, Sophie joined Jeremy Mcpherson’s Ballet School (VIC), moving to Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in 2016. In 2020, Sophie joined the Young Australian Broadway Chorus, eventually becoming a “triple threat” (the company’s highest level). While completing her VCE/VET dance course, Sophie trained with Michelle Slater’s Performing Arts Studio, where she played Paulette in Legally Blonde.
While her dreams of being a dancing cartoon mouse weren’t necessarily fulfilled, some of Sophie’s past-performances come quite close, including Marty in Madagascar (YABC, 2022), The Little Mermaid and Little Red Riding Hood pantomimes (Featured Dancer, Altona City Theatre 2018, 2020) and Seussical the Musical (Western Arts Theatre, 2019). Sophie has played a variety of roles, from Dance Captain in Rapunzel (Pantomime, ACT 2023), to Florinda/Rapunzel’s understudy in Into the Woods (Followspot Theatre, 2023) to Judy Turner in A Chorus Line (Performing Artists Company, 2023).
At Suzanne Cory High School, Sophie played Kathrine in Freaky Friday (2023) and the Housewife/Waitress in Working (2022). Sophie recently made her Canberra debut, as Morticia in ANU MTC’s The Addams Family, and she is so excited to make her Free-Rain debut, in a completely different role (singing much higher)! Sophie is thrilled to be part of such an amazing show, and hopes you love it as much as she does!
