Jono Windsor

A Tasmanian-born trumpet player and vocalist, Jono began playing trumpet almost 30 years ago, playing in several school and community bands in north-west Tasmania throughout his youth.
Jono began singing a little over a decade ago and in collaboration with Sydney-based producer Leon Berger, Jono released several singles during the Covid period. Jono’s musical theatre debut was in 2015 with Queanbeyan Players’ in My Fair Lady. Subsequent theatre credits include The Music Man (2016), The Merry Widow from Bluegum Creek (2016), and South Pacific (2017).

Jono’s orchestral theatre credits include The Mikado (2015), Guys and Dolls (2017) and Jesus Christ Superstar (2018). Jono currently plays lead trumpet for ‘In Full Swing’ and was previously lead trumpet for ‘Spectrum Big Band’. As a long-time fan of Peter Allen, Jono is honoured to be joining the cast of The Boy from Oz for his first on-stage appearance since 2017, as well as his Free-Rain Theatre debut.
