Dick Goldberg
Dick has appeared with a number of theatre companies since he first stepped tentatively onto a Canberra stage in 1980 as a member of Mack the Knife’s gang in Canberra Opera’s production of The Threepenny Opera. He was last seen as Doc in Dramatic Productions’ West Side Story.
In recent years, performances have included The Q’s Sunset Boulevard and Canberra Repertory’s The Venetian Twins, The Threepenny Opera (once again) and Waiting in the Wings. Dick’s earlier Rep shows included On the Razzle, The Madness of King George, eleven iterations of Old Time Music Hall, and all four productions of Jazz Garters. Other shows have included Les Miserables and Fiddler on the Roof (twice) for Canberra Philharmonic, Twelve Angry Men and The Burning for New Century Productions, and Kiss Me Kate for Queanbeyan Players.
Dick thought that his terpsichorean skills would no longer be in demand but he’s had to dust off his dancing shoes for what must surely be the last time!
